Raw Chocolate Sauce

There are a million recipes that can be improved by a little chocolate sauce! Top your nice cream, your porridge or your smoothie bowl…use it for dipping fruit or for painting on your favourite person. This is a really basic recipe and once you have mastered it you can play around with adding extra flavours like vanilla, rose, orange, mint or spices. The difficult part is making enough.

Ingredients:

Makes approx ¼ cup (you’ll probably need more!)

• 4 tbsp Coconut Oil
• 2 tbsp Maple Syrup
• 3 tbsp Cacao Powder

Method:

1. Melt the coconut oil in the pan or leave in the sun/ place oil container in a bowl of hot water.
2. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.
3. Scrape into a pouring bottle and place in the fridge to thicken up.
4. To adapt the recipe, adding more coconut oil will make it thicker. If the sauce is too thick from the fridge, place the closed pouring bottle in a bowl of warm water briefly before using.
5. If you want to add additional flavours, do so at stage 2.
